Mumbai Oct 4 (NationPress) Former politician and now entertainer Navjot Singh Sidhu is gearing up to take on the role of judge for the talent show India's Got Talent. In an interview with IANS, Sidhu articulated his primary goal of redirecting the energy of today’s misled youth.
When asked by IANS about what drew him to the show, Sidhu remarked, “Nothing inspires me more than recognizing talent, number one. Secondly, it’s about passing the torch to the younger generation.”
He elaborated, “How do you influence the younger generation? Intimidation and reprimands won’t work. It’s about reshaping their mindset; your thoughts truly shape your actions.”
“You become what you think. There’s no absolute good or bad; it’s your mindset that defines it. ‘All individuals have vision; few have insight.’ Therefore, instilling a vision, aiding them in achieving their dreams through appropriate means, is crucial. I thrive on the excitement of hitting sixes,” he added.
Discussing the youth, Sidhu mentioned, “Many youngsters succumb to alcohol and drugs. IGT – India’s Got Talent – exemplifies how energies should be directed positively. We need to guide the younger generation towards constructive, beneficial pursuits.”
He continued, “Consider the sculpted bodies of performers displaying acrobatics, reminiscent of circus acts. Innovative ideas like using light for artistic expression are emerging. The show features traditional artists and magicians showcasing their talents. There is no shortage of talent in India; it just needs to be nurtured and disciplined.”
“This is what drives me. Our electoral battles are not just for the present; they are for the future generations. Sharing your experiences and lessons with the youth is a noble pursuit,” Sidhu stated.
He further discussed how IGT serves as a platform for diverse talents. “The challenge in Indian society is that merit is rarely acknowledged, but IGT honors genuine talent. There’s no favoritism; what matters is that the deserving rise and have the opportunity to succeed, while those who don’t meet the standards must step aside. This echoes the natural law of survival of the fittest,” he explained.
He concluded, “The most abundant room in this world is for improvement. IGT embodies this ethos. As we enter the 11th season, the potential for talent remains inexhaustible, akin to an ocean. We continuously discover authentic talent because aspirations have been given wings.
IGT is here to soar!” In its 11th season, India’s Got Talent will feature Navjot Singh Sidhu, Malaika Arora, and Shaan on the judging panel.
