Chennai, May 3 (NationPress) Actor Silambarasan, affectionately known as Simbu by his admirers, has revealed the secret behind his punctuality during film shoots with the esteemed director Mani Ratnam.
While promoting his upcoming project 'Thug Life', which stars Kamal Haasan, Simbu addressed the common query about his ability to arrive on time for Mani Ratnam's film sets.
"Many people have approached me asking, 'How do you manage to be punctual for Mani sir's shoots?'" Simbu shared.
He continued, "They often wonder, 'Is he strict? Are you intimidated by him? Is that what makes you punctual?'"
"Truth be told, I harbor no fear towards him (Mani Ratnam). I hold him in high regard. Not once have I been late for a shoot with Mani Ratnam. In fact, there have been occasions where I've arrived before him. My reason? As an actor, it’s essential to have faith in a director and producer when committing to a film. It starts with the director arriving on time. If he does, then the actors will follow suit," Simbu explained.
"When Mani sir narrates a story, he doesn’t arrive at the set uncertain about how to shoot. He comes prepared, knowing exactly what needs to be done. He respects the time of the actors and adheres to the schedule for the film's release and payment. With years of experience mastering this, who wouldn’t want to be punctual?" he questioned.
Simbu further noted, "Regarding feedback, while some directors will communicate from a distance, Mani sir prefers to approach you directly, providing clear guidance on his vision."
"If I had more directors like Mani sir, my fans would be thrilled, and I would have starred in numerous films. If Mani Ratnam invited me to work on even three films, I would prioritize them above all else," he stated.
