Mumbai, March 6 (NationPress) Former actress and current politician Smriti Irani along with actor Amar Upadhyay, both renowned for their roles as Tulsi and Mihir in the iconic television series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, embarked on a nostalgic journey.

They reminisced about a cherished moment from over 25 years ago that included Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.

On Friday, Amar Upadhyay shared a significant throwback from their participation in the inaugural season of the legendary quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

The heartwarming moment captured in the picture appears to date back approximately 25 years, featuring the duo alongside the megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Amar Upadhyay posted the nostalgic clip on social media, stating, “A cherished throwback to when Tuhir proudly occupied the KBC Season 1 stage.”

In response, Smriti Irani commented on her social media, “Hey ram … I nearly forgot this one .. such wonderful memories @amarupadhyay_official.”

The images depict Smriti Irani as Tulsi, adorned in a bright pink saree complemented by traditional jewelry, standing on stage next to Amar Upadhyay as Mihir, who is dressed in a formal black suit.

Both stars are seen being welcomed by Amitabh Bachchan, the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

In one particular image, the pair is pictured seated on the hot seat while Amitabh Bachchan engages with them in conversation.

Another photograph captures Amar shaking hands with the legendary host, with Smriti beaming between them, cherishing the memorable occasion.

It appears that their appearance on KBC was part of a special integration episode with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Speaking of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the show debuted on July 3, 2000.

The first season lasted for nearly 8 years, becoming one of the most cherished and longest-running saas-bahu dramas in Indian television history.

25 years later, the reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi premiered in August 2025.

Smriti Irani reprised her role as Tulsi, while Amar Upadhyay returned as Mihir.

Actress Apara Mehta, who played Mihir’s mother Savita Virani in the original series, is not part of the current iteration.

For those unfamiliar, Mihir and Tulsi were regarded as one of the most iconic couples on-screen during the 2000s.

True fans will recall how the character of Mihir, portrayed by Amar Upadhyay, was brought back into the story due to overwhelming viewer demand.

The second season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, featuring Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, also includes actors Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Ritu Seth, and Ketaki Dave, all reprising their roles.

The new cast includes Rohit Suchanti, Shagun Sharma, Aman Gandhi, Tanisha Mehta, Prachi Singh, and Ankit Bhatia.
