Mumbai, Jan 5 (NationPress) In remembrance of her father, the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, actress Soha Ali Khan chose to commemorate his legacy by visiting the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on his birthday.

Soha shared a video capturing her reflections on her father's memory at Eden, alongside nostalgic clips from the unforgettable 1974 Test against the West Indies.

On this special day, while honoring the former Indian cricket captain, the 'Rang De Basanti' star expressed on Instagram, "On your birthday, Abba, I wanted to stand where the game remembers you. Eden Gardens may be empty today, but it is never silent for you. (sic)"

She reminisced about the legendary Test match in which her father played valiantly despite a fractured cheekbone, leading India to victory. She wrote, "A ground you cherished playing on, where you captained India multiple times — especially memorable was the December 1974 Test against the formidable West Indies. A delivery from Andy Roberts hit you in the face, fracturing your cheekbone. You left the field injured but returned to lead the team to a remarkable 85-run victory. That match at Eden stands as one of Indian cricket’s most legendary triumphs — a timeless testament to grit and courageous (or perhaps tiger-hearted) leadership."

Soha concluded her heartfelt tribute, wishing her father a happy birthday, saying, "The stands still remember you, the cricketer. I remember my Abba. Both belong here. Happy birthday, Abba."

Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi married the renowned actress Sharmila Tagore on December 27, 1968. The couple has three children: son Saif Ali Khan and daughters Soha and Saba.

While Saif and Soha pursued careers in the entertainment industry, Saba has made her mark as a jewelry designer.
