Mumbai, Oct 31 (NationPress) Actress and author Soha Ali Khan reminisced about a significant childhood moment when her father, Mansoor Ali Khan, gifted her Rs 500 on her birthday at the age of 12.
During her podcast All About Her, she shared her insights on financial literacy from a young age: “At 12, my father presented me with Rs 500 as a birthday gift, but he offered me a fascinating choice—I could either spend it freely or return it for Rs 50 each October.”
Soha opted for the latter, believing it was what her father wanted. “He honored his promise. Every October, without exception, I received 50 rupees from him. This small amount imparted crucial lessons about saving and how even modest, consistent habits can accumulate into something substantial,” she recounted.
She emphasized, “This experience instilled in me the importance of saving and planning for the future. This mindset has shaped my approach to managing finances, whether using my credit card as a debit card or ensuring my bills are paid promptly. Financial discipline has ultimately become a core aspect of my identity.”
