Guwahati, Nov 4 (NationPress) The assertion made by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday that renowned singer Zubeen Garg's demise was not accidental but rather a murder in Singapore has ignited significant unrest across the state, prompting fans to call for the most severe penalties for those involved.

During a conversation with the media at a public function, CM Sarma stated: "I can now firmly declare that Zubeen Garg’s passing was not due to an accident; he was murdered in Singapore. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is diligently preparing to submit the chargesheet before the anticipated date of December 17."

"Since the case involves situations that occurred on foreign soil, we need clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) prior to filing the chargesheet. I met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi yesterday to accelerate this process," CM Sarma mentioned.

According to him, the SIT is set to formally approach the MHA in the next three to four days, with the chargesheet expected to be filed between December 7 and 10.
