New Delhi, Nov 3 (NationPress) - Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has arrived in Patna to invigorate the NDA's campaign for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Over the next three days, she is set to conduct more than a dozen public meetings, as reported by a BJP leader.
The first round of voting in Bihar is slated for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11. The election results will be announced on November 14.
A statement from the Chief Minister's Office indicated, "In the coming three days, CM Gupta will actively campaign for NDA candidates throughout the state."
"She will be joined by senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party, along with allies and party candidates. Besides public meetings, the Chief Minister will also participate in roadshows," it added.
This marks CM Gupta's third visit to Bihar specifically for election campaigning, characterized as a high-intensity tour. She is expected to address gatherings in 12 to 15 constituencies, particularly those voting on November 6 and November 11.
During her three-day campaign, the Chief Minister will hold election rallies and public meetings in various constituencies including Siwan, Barharia, and Baikunthpur on November 4.
On November 5, her campaign will stretch to the Gaura Bauram, Arwal, Gaya City, and Aurangabad constituencies.
She will address rallies in Bhagalpur, Warisaliganj, Hisua, and Dinara constituencies on November 6.
CM Gupta is scheduled to return to New Delhi on the evening of November 6.
The announcement of her Bihar campaign was made on the same day BJP President J.P. Nadda convened a meeting of the party's General Secretaries in Delhi.
Previously, during a campaign rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce critique against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi, attributing their 15-year rule to the state's decline in law and order, which led to the closure of industries and sugar mills.
He commended Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for restoring law and order and fostering state development.
"During Lalu and Rabri's governance, Bihar experienced a climate of terror and lawlessness. Our sugar mill was shut down due to extortion... Nitish Kumar has put an end to this terror and unlocked developmental opportunities," he asserted.
Union Minister Shah reiterated a prior commitment made in Riga, stating that the now-operational Riga sugar mill is just the beginning. He assured that the Centre's cooperative department would focus on reviving all dormant sugar mills in Bihar, aiming to enhance prosperity for sugarcane farmers.
