New Delhi, Nov 3 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta arrived in Patna on Monday to strengthen the NDA's efforts for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. She has a packed schedule of over a dozen public meetings planned for the next three days, according to a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The first voting phase in Bihar is set for November 6, with the second phase on November 11. Results will be announced on November 14.
In a statement from her office, it was noted, "Over the next three days, the Chief Minister will campaign in favor of NDA candidates throughout the state."
Accompanying her will be senior BJP leaders, allied party officials, as well as party candidates and workers. Apart from public meetings, she will also engage in roadshows, the statement indicated.
This trip marks Chief Minister Gupta's third visit to Bihar for election campaigning, described as a high-energy tour.
During her three days, she is set to address gatherings in 12 to 15 constituencies, particularly in regions where voting is scheduled for November 6 and November 11.
On November 4, her campaign will include rallying in areas like Siwan, Barharia, Baikunthpur, and surrounding regions.
On November 5, she will focus on constituencies such as Gaura Bauram, Arwal, Gaya City, and Aurangabad.
On November 6, she will deliver speeches in Bhagalpur, Warisaliganj, Hisua, and Dinara constituencies.
She is expected to return to New Delhi on the evening of November 6.
The announcement of the Chief Minister's schedule coincided with a meeting led by BJP President J.P. Nadda with the party's General Secretaries in Delhi.
Previously, during a campaign rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah sharply criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi, attributing their 15-year governance to the lawlessness that crippled Bihar's industries and sugar mills.
At a rally in the Riga block of Sitamarhi, Minister Shah articulated that the industrial decline, including the shutdown of sugar mills and stalled projects, stemmed from extortion and terror under the previous government.
He praised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for reinstating law and order and fostering state development.
"Under Lalu and Rabri's rule, Bihar was plagued by terror and lawlessness. Our sugar mill was shut down due to extortion... Nitish Kumar has eradicated this terror and facilitated development," he remarked.
Minister Shah also reaffirmed a prior promise made in Riga, stating that the now-operational Riga sugar mill would be just the beginning, with plans to revive all defunct sugar mills in Bihar to enhance prosperity for sugarcane farmers.
