Mumbai, Oct 28 (NationPress) One of the most celebrated stars of Punjab, Sonam Bajwa, expresses that this year has been a pleasant revelation as she is now fulfilling her long-held aspiration of acting in Hindi films.
When asked if it becomes challenging to balance both Bollywood and Punjabi cinema, Sonam shared with IANS: “This year has genuinely surprised me. As an artist, I have always aspired to work in Hindi cinema. I am immensely thankful for the opportunities Punjabi cinema has provided me — for its vital role in shaping my life and career.”
The actress mentioned her roots, stating she was born in Uttarakhand, raised in UP, and has worked in Punjab.
She elaborated: “Growing up, I watched Hindi films while being part of Punjabi cinema. Like every artist, I yearned for a larger audience. I wanted to act in Hindi films, perform in iconic songs, and portray memorable roles.”
Sonam made her debut in Hindi cinema with Housefull 5 and has since appeared in projects like Baaghi 4 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which she regards as a dream come true.
“I often reminded myself to work toward this goal. I regularly express my gratitude for what I currently have. It’s simple to say thank you when you receive something, but genuine gratitude is essential. They say that when you appreciate the small things, you will be rewarded with greater blessings,” she stated.
“Thus, I constantly strive to remain grateful so that I can be worthy as I continue to grow. I have envisioned this moment, and now it’s happening,” Sonam added.
She describes this as a new chapter in her journey.
“This year has brought me not one, not two, but three Hindi films. I am simultaneously working in Punjab too. It has never felt overwhelming. Although I experienced some stress, I am deeply thankful and genuinely relishing every moment,” she concluded.
