Mumbai, March 22 (NationPress) Similar to how the first installment of Aditya Dhar's "Dhurandhar" brought back nostalgic feelings tied to "Ramba Ho", the sequel, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge," includes the iconic track "Oye Oye" from the 1995 film "Trimurti".
After watching the sequel in theaters, actress Sonam Khan, who was featured in the song, experienced a surge of nostalgia and reminisced about the era when the song first captivated audiences.
Reflecting on those memories, Sonam noted how commuters would enthusiastically shout 'Oye Oye' while using public transport during the 90s.
On her official Instagram, she shared, "Oye Oye! I watched #dhurandar2 yesterday and hearing my song in the movie brought back some cherished memories that I want to share with all of you. Enjoy this trivia! (sic)"
In her post, Sonam also disclosed that she wasn't the initial pick for the film "Tridev".
"I was actually brought on board at the last moment while filming with Yash Chopra Sir in Hyderabad for 'Vijay'. I flew down just to attend the mahurat of the film," she recounted.
Recollecting her first day on the "Tridev" set, Sonam added, "My first day of shooting for #tridev was the 'tirchetopiwale' song.
Initially, there were supposed to be fewer costume changes; we were meant to shoot the song in one outfit, but I ended up having six or seven changes instead."
Sonam revealed that she never anticipated the immense popularity of "Oye Oye."
She described the moment she realized the song had become a massive hit, writing, "How did I know the song was such a big success? It was when my driver mentioned that people were shouting 'oye oye' in public transport and on the streets. There was no social media back then.
People simply communicated with each other by saying 'oye oye!'"
