Los Angeles, Jan 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Sophie Turner has revealed her inability to watch the acclaimed series 'Game of Thrones' anymore. She admitted that the show's theme music has caused her to experience PTSD.
The 29-year-old actress, who played Sansa Stark throughout all eight seasons of the HBO fantasy series, which aired from 2011 to 2019, expressed that she now perceives the show in a “completely different” light, as reported by 'Female First UK'.
During her appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', the host inquired, “Do you recognize the significant impact it has had on television and around the world?” To which she replied, “I think so? I’m not entirely sure.”
When asked by Jimmy if she watches it, she responded, “No! I mean, I might have watched season one with my parents, but they were like, ‘Whoa! No! No, no, no, no!’ But no, I can’t watch it. Just hearing the 'Game of Thrones' theme gives me PTSD. I view it so differently now.”
Aside from 'Game of Thrones', Sophie, who separated from her ex-husband Joe Jonas, 36, in 2023, also discussed Amazon’s forthcoming series where she will take on the role of Lara Croft.
She teased, “You’ll see it on Amazon Prime soon as we haven't started filming yet. I've been training since February last year, so I feel like I could probably defeat you right now.”
As per 'Female First UK', when Jimmy asked Sophie if she could showcase any of her training moves, she humorously replied, “I was considering it, but I'm in a skirt, and I don’t want to flash the p*.” Although Sophie is not inclined to revisit 'Game of Thrones', she remains open to the idea of reprising her role as Sansa in the future.
When questioned about a potential return to 'Game of Thrones', Sophie told Thedirect.com, “Show me the money. I don't know, it could be challenging yet incredible to return. However, I felt satisfied with how Sansa’s story concluded in 'Game of Thrones', and most others weren’t happy with their endings. I was fortunate, so I'm uncertain if I could return.”
She further commented, “It could be a joy, or it might just be an attempt to grasp something magical from the past that can't be replicated. I’d need to see a script first.”
