Mumbai, April 5 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai was present at the last rites of actor Manoj Kumar in the city on Saturday. While saying goodbye to his fellow filmmaker, Subhash Ghai shared with IANS that Manoj Kumar was among the most exceptional filmmakers in our nation, whose legacy continues to motivate countless individuals.

He expressed to IANS, "The greatest source of inspiration for the industry is a filmmaker. If we consider the ten filmmakers in India who have inspired future generations, he was certainly one of the finest, the most significant filmmaker and actor we had."

Furthermore, he highlighted, "Manoj Kumar exhibited remarkable craftsmanship and a profound connection with audiences, delivering songs like ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti’, ‘Kasme Vaade’, and ‘Teri Meri Kahani’. These melodies remain pertinent today and will continue to resonate for the next 50 years as well."

The last rites for Manoj Kumar took place in the Vile Parle area of Mumbai. The actor, renowned for introducing a new era of patriotic narratives in Hindi cinema, passed away on Friday following a prolonged illness.

His body was transported from the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital to his residence in Goswami Towers at 10:00 am on Saturday, with the final ceremonies conducted at the Pawan Hans crematorium.

Images from his home displayed family members and staff preparing floral arrangements, while an ambulance covered in tri-colour flowers, symbolizing the national flag, carried his remains.

Family and friends attended the last rites, which were conducted as a state funeral. He was honored with a Guard of Honour during his final send-off.

Notable figures from the film industry, such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, and their sons Abhishek Bachchan and Arbaaz Khan, were present at the funeral.
