Mumbai, April 12 (NationPress) Actress and producer Surbhi Chandna is preparing to deliver a captivating musical journey with Ishtam, a project that she describes as a fusion of Hindi and Malayalam lyrics, stemming from her admiration for the Oscar-winning artist A.R. Rahman's song “Kehna Hi Kya.”

Set for release on April 14 under her label Feel Good Originals, the track features a blend of Malayalam and Rajasthani musical influences.

“When we established Feel Good Originals, my vision was to merge Hindi and Malayalam lyrics, inspired by my affection for Kerala and A.R. Rahman sir’s “Kehna Hi Kya,”” Surbhi shared.

She continued, “That initial spark of an idea ultimately blossomed into Ishtam.”

The process of creating Ishtam was as intricate as the composition itself.

Tagging it as a “passion project,” she mentioned, “This has been a passion project since last year. Karan and I traveled to Kerala, learned some Malayalam, explored Kathakali, and immersed ourselves in the culture to ensure authenticity in the sound. We even incorporated live instruments such as the violin and bagal bacha to evoke the right emotions.”

Featuring Vivek Dahiya and Anaira Gupta, with Surbhi leading a dedicated team, Ishtam is set to debut on April 14.

Surbhi is well-known for her roles in Ishqbaaaz and Naagin 5. She made her acting debut in 2009 with a cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and her first significant role was in Qubool Hai.

The actress is also recognized for her performances in Sanjivani and Sherdil Shergill. In 2024, Surbhi expanded into web series with Amazon Mini TV's Rakshak—India's Braves, portraying the role of an army officer's wife, Alka Singh, opposite Barun Sobti.

In March 2024, she married her entrepreneur partner, Karan Sharma, after 13 years of dating in Jaipur.
