What Can We Expect from Surya Sethupathi's 'Phoenix'?

Chennai, July 1 (NationPress) The creators of 'Phoenix', which signifies the inaugural performance of actor Vijay Sethupathi's son Surya Sethupathi as a leading action hero, unveiled an enticing sneak peek into the film on Tuesday.

AK Braveman Pictures, the production house behind this project, shared the link to the sneak peek video on its X timeline, stating, "First came the heat. Then the burn. This high-octane action film is the brainchild of Anal Arasu, who has transitioned from stunt choreography to directing.

The revealed sneak peek features Surya Sethupathi in a juvenile detention center, where he stands in line to receive his meal, only for it to be snatched away by a bully. As he ponders his next action, Surya discovers that even more formidable adversaries reside within the institution...

This film is not only Surya Sethupathi's debut as an action hero in a prominent role but also boasts a talented ensemble cast including Varalakshmi, Sampath, Devadharshini, Muthukumar, Dilipan, Ajay Ghosh, Harish Uththaman, Moonar Ramesh, Abhinakshathra, Varsha, Naveen, Rishi, Nandha Saravanan, Murugadas, Vignesh, Sreejith Ravi, and Aadukalam Naren, among many others.

Earlier, a trailer released by the producers hinted that a boy has murdered the son-in-law of a powerful figure and is now confined to the Chengalpattu juvenile home. It is revealed that the victim suffered 36 stab wounds.

The police initiate an investigation to uncover any prior conflicts between the attacker's family and the victim. We also meet the protagonist, who appears to be a mixed martial arts fighter.

A voiceover refers to him as a phoenix, emphasizing his ability to rise from the ashes. We learn that various individuals want him dead that very day. In this dire situation, the boy poses a profound question: "Why must they always win? Shouldn't we ever experience victory? What is your issue? Is it because we are winning, or is it because we are triumphing over you?"

This film, featuring a score by Sam CS, has been produced by AK Braveman Pictures under the direction of Rajalakshmy ‘ANL’Arasu. Cinematography is handled by Velraj R, with N John Albert serving as co-director.

Editing is the work of National Award winner Praveen K L, while stunts are choreographed by Anal Arasu himself. The art direction is by Madhan K, and choreography is executed by Baba Bashkar and Johny.
