How Did Sushant Singh Gain Fame and Recognition from Savdhaan India?

New Delhi, Sep 10 (NationPress) Although his filmography shines with remarkable titles such as Jungle, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Mukhbiir, and Rakhta Charitra, actor Sushant Singh is predominantly remembered for his compelling role on the crime show Savdhaan India, which he attributes to his substantial fame and recognition.

With a career that spans more than two decades, the common thread in all his performances, which include iconic classics and gripping dramas, is the element of crime. The actor believes this aligns with his personality, which he describes as suited for intense roles.

“This just unfolded naturally. I never consciously pursued this direction,” Sushant shared with IANS, reflecting on his numerous intense portrayals in crime narratives.

He has made conscious efforts to avoid being stereotyped.

“From the start, like any other actor, my aim was to prevent any labels from sticking to me. Yet, this crime association just materialized. I suppose my disposition is naturally inclined towards intense roles,” he elaborated.

Nonetheless, he acknowledges that intense characters are predominantly featured in crime and gangster genres.

“When we talk about intense characters, the stories that get written in this industry predominantly fall within crime dramas and gangster narratives. Hence, I often found myself in such films,” he explained.

Then came Savdhaan India, a show that dramatizes real-life crimes in India and highlights the victims' struggles for justice.

The actor, who served as the Honorary Secretary of the Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTAA) until May 2020, humorously noted that the show crafted an image of him as someone managing law and order across the nation.

“With Savdhaan India running for an extensive duration, it created an image that perhaps, I’m the one overseeing the law and order of the entire country,” he remarked.

However, he describes his experience with the show as positive.

“I had a really fulfilling journey with Savdhaan India — it brought me significant fame, recognition, and enabled me to save well, which provided me the liberty to accept worthwhile projects and decline those I was not interested in. Therefore, Savdhaan India offered me a lot of benefits,” he concluded.

Sushant's latest project is Bindiya Ke Bahubali, featuring Saurabh Shukla, Ranvir Shorey, Seema Biswas, and Sheeba Chaddha. This series delves into the repercussions following a mafia don's arrest during an election campaign. Set in the fictional town of Bindiya, India, a fierce battle over legacy and power ignites when Bada Davan of the Davan family is apprehended, leading his ambitious son, Chhote Davan, to seek control.
