New Delhi, Sep 10 (NationPress) The fourth season of Major League Cricket (MLC) is set to kick off on June 18, 2026, with the championship match scheduled for July 18, 2026. According to the organizers, this exciting six-team tournament will comprise 34 matches.
The teams that will compete in this thrilling event include the Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings, and Washington Freedom.
Looking ahead, MLC intends to introduce two additional teams by the 2027 season and is considering an expansion into Canada.
In the previous season, a nail-biting last-ball finish at Grand Prairie saw MI New York clinch victory over Washington Freedom by just 5 runs, marking their second title in three years. Season 3 was filled with excitement, featuring 18 team totals exceeding 200, 5 matches decided on the last ball, and 7 centuries.
“Season 3 demonstrated the growing demand for elite cricket in the U.S.,” stated Johnny Grave, CEO of Major League Cricket. “We are gaining new fans, followers, and viewers across the USA and the globe. We’re committed to promoting cricket in the USA and strengthening ties with both new and existing commercial partners.”
American Cricket Enterprises (ACE), the league's owner, aims to establish 10 international standard venues by 2030, with investments exceeding USD 150 million.
“The next phase involves further investment in infrastructure. With ACE’s continued support, we aspire to have 10 international venues by 2030, enhancing fan access to world-class cricket and providing better development opportunities for American players. We eagerly anticipate an action-packed MLC Season 4 starting on June 18,” Grave added.
Since its launch in 2023, MLC, the only ICC-sanctioned domestic T20 franchise league in the United States, has been gaining momentum both on and off the field, with ACE confirming that Season 3 achieved record-breaking ticket sales, broadcast reach, and digital engagement.
