Mumbai, April 23 (NationPress) Actress Taapsee Pannu made her fourth visit to Barabanki on Wednesday, accompanied by her husband Mathias Boe.
During her visit to Garri Primary School in the Ramnagar development block, she motivated the young female students to achieve empowerment through education and sports. The 'Thappad' star not only provided educational resources but also engaged in dance with the girls, encouraging them to study diligently and progress in life. Additionally, Taapsee presented bicycles to the girls, enabling them to commute to school independently.
In response to inquiries, the 'Badla' actress remarked, 'I have been visiting these girls annually since 2022, when I took on the responsibility for their education. They were in first grade then, and now they are poised to transition from fifth to sixth grade, advancing from primary to elementary school. I do not want any girl to discontinue schooling because their elementary institution is too far away. Hence, I chose to uplift their spirits and present them with bicycles for their commute.'
Through the Nani Kali project administered by the Nandi Foundation, the education department collaborates to provide two hours of free tutoring after school for children at Primary School Garri in Barabanki. Taapsee has committed to educating 60 of these girls, alongside her badminton player husband.
On the professional front, Taapsee will next appear in the highly anticipated drama 'Gandhari'. Directed by Devashish Makhija, this project is written and produced by Kanika Dhillon.
'Gandhari' marks the sixth collaboration between Kanika Dhillon and Taapsee Pannu, following successful projects like 'Manmarziyaan', 'Haseen Dilruba', and 'Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba'.
Featuring Ishwak Singh, the film will depict a mother’s journey to locate and rescue her kidnapped daughter, exploring themes of vengeance and redemption.
'Gandhari' is set to stream on Netflix later this year.
