Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 16 (NationPress) Actress Tanishaa Mukerji has expressed that she has consistently regarded her sister, Kajol, and brother-in-law, Ajay Devgn, as her Shiva and Parvati, revealing the profound respect she holds for the couple.
While speaking to IANS during the Grand Maha Shivratri festivities at the Isha Yoga Center, Tanishaa remarked: “Ever since Kajol and Ajay Devgn tied the knot, I have always seen them as my Shiva and Parvati. It’s a personal bias; they have forever embodied my Shiva and Parvati.”
She also shared her inclination toward spirituality and her aspiration to portray a spiritual character onscreen, provided it is crafted with care.
“I have no particular expectations, but I would certainly love to take on a spiritual role. I haven’t pondered it deeply, as I am quite spiritual in real life, so I don’t overthink it for reel life,” she stated.
“However, I believe it would be fascinating. It would be delightful to portray something like that if it is depicted and scripted well because I find that writing is crucial. If a character lacks depth, it becomes challenging for me to embody such roles,” she elaborated.
Highlighting the significance of meditation in her life, Tanishaa stated that it has provided her with clarity and emotional equilibrium.
“I can’t stress enough how vital meditation is for everyone. It has ushered in numerous positive changes in my life. My mind has become more tranquil. I can recognize my anger; I can pinpoint why I get so angry. When we experience anger, we often see red and lose our ability to think clearly.”
“But now, I can reflect on my anger and consider whom I’m angry with and if that anger is warranted. All these realizations come through meditation,” she explained.
She added that meditation has also aided her in overcoming procrastination.
“If I need to instigate a change within myself, like my tendency to procrastinate, meditation has motivated me to act. When I meditate, a sense of stillness envelops me, and an inner voice urges me to take action immediately, which I do,” she shared.
“I believe meditation is the sole method to train the brain. Repetition is the only language the brain understands.”
Describing spirituality as a potent tool for mental wellness, the actress noted that discipline is fundamental to religion.
She concluded: “Spirituality is the finest avenue for mental health. If your mental state is not optimal, you should definitely explore spirituality as it will bestow awareness and strength upon you. Spirituality is essentially discipline. What is religion? Religion is a form of discipline. When you engage in something religiously, it transforms into religion. That’s all it is.”
“The term ‘religion’ in English signifies doing something with regularity. Engage in prayer daily, and your mental health will undoubtedly improve. It serves as an excellent resource for our youth. Spend time in silence with yourself; the answers will arise from within,” she added.
