Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) In an open discussion about her initial career decisions, actress Tanya Maniktala expressed her remorse for choosing the “safer option” and remaining in her comfort zone.

Despite achieving early success, she now realizes that this choice prevented her from fully taking risks and advancing in her career. When reflecting on her transition from a more conventional career path, including a potential career in copywriting, Tanya shared her candid thoughts.

Looking back on her journey, she acknowledged her feelings of regret for having initially selected the “safer option” and not stepping out of her comfort zone at the start of her career. Maniktala revealed to IANS, “I’m definitely glad about how my journey has unfolded. I was considering the safer option back then, but I’ve realized that success and joy don’t come from staying in your comfort zone. I’m so grateful I stepped out of it and took the plunge into acting. And now, I'm receiving so much love and validation from the audience. I wouldn’t change anything.”

Tanya Maniktala also elaborated on her method of portraying a variety of characters. She noted that her process involves fully immersing herself in the character, comprehending their mindset, and tailoring her performance to deliver something distinctive for each role.

“Yes, I've often portrayed characters with greater sensitivity, but Tulika is different in that regard. Her character is intricate, and I enjoyed delving into that. Latika’s character, on the other hand, is even more layered. She’s guided by a strong moral compass, but that gets questioned, and she begins to navigate the grey areas. As Tanya evolves, so does the type of characters I choose. I prefer selecting roles that challenge me and foster my growth as an actor.”

The ‘A Suitable Boy’ actress also discussed her upcoming project, “Loot Kand,” stating, “This project revolves around two intriguing characters, Latika and Palash, who are siblings. They devise a plan to rob someone’s house, leading to a series of crimes. It’s a very captivating journey.”

“Loot Kaand” is set to premiere on March 20 on Amazon MX Player.
