Was Taylor Swift Subpoenaed by Justin Baldoni's Lawyer in a Sexual Harassment Case?

Los Angeles, May 10 (NationPress) The renowned singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has found herself entangled in the legal conflict involving actor-director Justin Baldoni and actress Blake Lively following the release of the film ‘It Ends With Us’.

Baldoni's attorney has formally subpoenaed the star. A representative for Swift has clarified that she had no involvement with the film apart from licensing her song ‘My Tears Ricochet’ for use in both the trailer and a specific scene, as reported by Variety.

The spokesperson emphasized, “Taylor Swift never visited the film's set, had no participation in casting or creative decisions, did not compose the film's score, did not review any edits, and only watched ‘It Ends With Us’ weeks post its public premiere while she was touring globally in 2023 and 2024, headlining an unprecedented tour.”

According to Variety, the subpoena issued to Swift pertains to Baldoni's defamation lawsuit initiated in January, which includes text conversations between Lively and Baldoni. In these messages, Lively seemingly refers to Swift as “one of her dragons.”

Baldoni has filed a lawsuit against Lively and her spouse Ryan Reynolds for $400 million, claiming that the couple commandeered the film and sought to tarnish his public image through false accusations and sexual harassment allegations.

While Swift is not directly named in the lawsuit, her first name appears in a text Baldoni sent to Lively, leading to speculation that she is the “megacelebrity friend” mentioned in the documents. These messages discuss a rooftop scene that Lively allegedly modified in the script. The lawsuit states that Lively invited Baldoni to her New York penthouse, where both Reynolds and the “megacelebrity friend” praised Lively’s rendition of the scene.

Baldoni’s legal team has stated that he “felt compelled to text Lively to express that he appreciated her pages without needing pressure from Reynolds and her megacelebrity friend.”

In his message, Baldoni wrote, “I was also working on the rooftop scene today, and I really love what you did. It truly enhances the scene's fun and intrigue. (And I would have felt this way without Ryan and Taylor). You are incredibly talented across the board. I am really looking forward to this collaboration.”

Lively later sent a message referencing Reynolds and another unnamed individual as “absolute titans as writers and storytellers outside their primary roles.” She further likened herself to Khaleesi, the queen who commands dragons on ‘Game of Thrones’.
