Varun Dhawan Prays at Mahakaleshwar Temple Before 'Baby John' Premiere

Mumbai, Dec 24 (NationPress) In preparation for the debut of his latest action movie “Baby John”, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan sought blessings at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Varun shared a moment on Instagram, posting a photo of himself clad in a dhoti and kurta, adorned with chandan on his forehead. He is captured sitting on the pavement, gazing away from the lens.

His caption read: “Feeling blessed Jai Mahakal.”

The Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a sacred temple dedicated to Shiva, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are revered as the holiest shrines of Shiva. This temple is positioned alongside the sacred Shipra River.

The principal deity, Shiva in the form of a lingam, is believed to be Swayambhu, drawing power (Shakti) from within itself, unlike other images and lingams that are ceremonially established and infused with mantra-shakti.

Regarding “Baby John,” set to hit theaters on December 25, this action thriller is directed by Kalees. The film features actors Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna, and Jackie Shroff.

This movie is a remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil film Theri, which is also loosely inspired by the 1990 Tamil film Chatriyan and the 2013 Hollywood production Homefront. “Theri” stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson, Nainika, Radhika Sarathkumar, Rajendran, and Mahendran. In this narrative, a former police officer embarks on a quest to shield his daughter from adversaries from his past.

This film marked Kumar’s second directorial venture following Raja Rani (2013), whose success motivated Vijay to collaborate with the director. Atlee conceptualized the script, which was characterized as an “emotional action thriller film,” and an official announcement was made in September 2014. The production faced interruptions due to a strike by the Film Employees Federation of South India and severe flooding in Chennai.
