Mumbai, Dec 16 (NationPress) Actor Varun Dhawan revealed his immense joy and excitement about collaborating with Bollywood icon Sunny Deol in the highly anticipated film Border 2. During the teaser launch of the movie in the city, Varun expressed, “The greatest honor for me was sharing screen space with the legendary Sunny Deol. I sincerely thank him for this incredible opportunity.”

Discussing Sunny Deol's remarkable professionalism, Varun recounted, “I started filming before Sunny sir’s schedule began. I vividly remember him arriving at the set four days prior to his shoot. We were all curious about his early arrival. For the first time in my career, I witnessed an actor of his caliber come to the set on a non-shoot day, quietly observing everything.”

He continued, “He made me feel so at ease. When he mentioned my character's name during a scene, I felt a rush of fear; I couldn’t believe that THE Sunny Deol was right in front of me. Growing up, I watched him in Border countless times. He is my hero. I had to pinch myself to truly accept that I was working with him. My inner child was overwhelmingly delighted.”

Reflecting on his first experience portraying a soldier, Varun stated, “This is my first time playing a Fauji on screen, and even after many years, I still felt nervous and emotional. As actors, we always hope for the audience to appreciate our performances and the film.”

He added, “Playing Major Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya was a true privilege. I hope the audience, his family, and particularly the armed forces, appreciate our film. If today’s generation feels motivated to join the Army after watching my character, I will consider it a success. Our true aim was to inspire.”

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas on December 16, the creators of Border 2 released the teaser of this patriotic war drama, providing a glimpse into a tribute to India’s courage and sacrifices.

The teaser delivers a powerful look at the four leading actors, Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, showcasing them stepping into their roles within the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, each introduced in moments filled with valor and intensity. The teaser is dynamic and is bound to evoke strong emotions, given its basis in real-life events.

The clip concludes with Sunny asking, 'Aawaz kaha tak jaani chahiye?' to which the response is 'Lahore tak!'. Alongside the male leads, the cast also features Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh, paired opposite the actors.

Border 2 is produced by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. With a robust production team, including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh, it is set to release on January 23, 2026.
