A.R. Rahman alongside singer Arijit Singh has collaborated on the song “Jaane Tu”, which is written by Irshad Kamil. This track from Laxman Utekar’s historical action drama “Chhaava” beautifully represents the everlasting, spiritual connection between Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai, played by Vicky and Rashmika Mandanna.

Discussing the essence of “Jaane Tu”, Vicky stated: “The song and our characters delve deeper than the usual concept of love. It signifies an eternal bond that surpasses time. I hope audiences can sense the profoundness of this spiritual relationship.”

He further expressed, “The collaboration of three legends — A.R. Rahman, Padma Shri awardee Arijit Singh, and Irshad Kamil — is what renders this piece of music exceptional. It has always been a dream to be part of a film with Rahman sir’s music, so I am grateful to Dinesh Vijan sir for making it a reality.”

The Bollywood star extended his gratitude to Laxman Utekar for uniting everyone in the grand narrative of “Chhaava.”

Rashmika Mandanna shared similar feelings, mentioning that this is her first experience working with A.R. Rahman’s music in a film.

“I feel incredibly privileged. And as Vicky highlighted, the bond between Maharani Yesubai and Maharaj Sambhaji is not merely a portrayal of love; it represents a spiritual connection that transcends human comprehension,” she expressed.

“This was one of my primary motivations to be involved in this film — it embodies something sacred, something that links us to a more profound existence,” she added.

“Chhaava” is inspired by the life of Maratha king Sambhaji. It adapts the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and also features Akshaye Khanna.
