Mumbai, March 29 (NationPress) In celebration of actor Vijay Varma's birthday, the OTT service Prime Video unveiled the teaser for his upcoming drama titled "Matka King" on Sunday.
The series, crafted by Abhay Koranne and directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, is poised to debut globally on April 17.
Set against the dynamic backdrop of 1960s Bombay, the narrative follows the ambitious journey of a cotton trader, Brij Bhatti (portrayed by Vijay Varma), who innovates a new gambling format known as ‘Matka’, transforming a niche elite activity into a widespread craze across the nation.
Co-produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, Gargi Kulkarni, Ashwini Sidwani, and Ashish Aryan, under the banners of Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat, and SMR Productions, "Matka King" stars Vijay alongside Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadawat, and Gulshan Grover in significant roles.
