Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Renowned chef Vikas Khanna, who has returned to Mumbai to continue filming for the upcoming season of ‘MasterChef India’, has raised concerns regarding the state of the Mumbai airport. On Friday, he utilized the Stories feature on his Instagram to share a snapshot of the carpet at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.
He indicated that the carpet could pose health risks for individuals with respiratory conditions. Nevertheless, he commended the airport management for their upkeep, asserting that eliminating the carpet would elevate the airport's standards.
He stated, “Though I feel that MUMBAI AIRPORT is highly efficient… I STRONGLY urge the management to remove this carpet. It is beyond cleaning. On behalf of all those suffering from asthma and bronchial issues, this could be life-threatening.” His message resonated widely online, underlining the need for accessibility, hygiene, and health-centered infrastructure in public venues.
Vikas is recognized for leveraging his influence beyond culinary realms. His remarks echo the empathy and commitment that characterize his journey on MasterChef India, a platform dedicated to fostering growth, inclusivity, and compassion.
In the latest episode of ‘MasterChef India’, the father-daughter duo Venu and Avni Sharma showcased a unique cultural fusion on the MasterChef stage.
Professionally, Venu is engaged in farming and operates an advertising firm, while Avni, a food stylist, has been absorbing flavors and tales from her father throughout her upbringing. During their segment on the show, Chef Vikas Khanna inquired, “You both are excelling. What prompted you to embark on the MasterChef journey?”
Avni responded with clarity, “When you visit a restaurant and browse the menu, you encounter North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, and Italian cuisines. While you may be familiar with these, I dream of representing our community's cuisine, such as Karada cuisine. I aspire to see it featured on a restaurant menu. This platform means a lot to me.”
When Chef Vikas probed her about a potential name for such a venue, Avni suggested, “Perhaps Karada Spice Box.” Clearly touched, Chef Vikas warmly concluded, “I am truly enamored by this idea.”
Reflecting on their journey, Chef Vikas remarked, “Much of my life has been spent overseas, and the essence of food doesn’t solely represent me, but also embodies my ancestry.”
‘MasterChef India’ is set to premiere on January 5 on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Liv.
