Mumbai, May 29 (NationPress) Star Yash has joined forces with Guy Norris, the renowned stunt expert from ‘Mad Max’, to create breathtaking action sequences for the highly anticipated epic ‘Ramayana’.
Actor and producer Yash has commenced principal photography on “Ramayana.” This ambitious project has enlisted Norris, the stunt director behind hits like “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and “The Suicide Squad,” to design elaborate action sequences tailored to the extensive scale of this mythological tale, according to reports from variety.com.
Norris is currently in India collaborating closely with Yash to craft set pieces that could potentially transform Indian cinema’s approach to grand spectacles. The story follows Prince Rama’s 14-year exile, during which the demon king Ravana abducts his wife Sita, culminating in an epic battle.
The film, which is divided into two parts, is under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, known for the record-breaking “Dangal,” the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
Yash’s production company, Monster Mind Creations, has teamed up with producer Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios to bring this adaptation of the Indian epic to life, as reported by variety.com.
The actor is celebrated for his role in the “K.G.F.” action film franchise, with its second installment ranking as the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film ever. Malhotra serves as the global CEO of visual effects powerhouse DNEG, which has contributed to seven VFX Oscar winners in recent years, including “Dune: Part One” and “Tenet.”
Initial images from the production show Yash, who will lead an ensemble cast alongside Ranbir Kapoor, in peak physical condition, ready to portray Ravana. Yash is committing to an extensive 60-70 day shooting schedule for “Ramayana Part 1,” according to variety.com.
This epic tale has been adapted for the screen numerous times, including in Ramanand Sagar’s classic 1987 television series “Ramayan,” the 1993 anime “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama,” and more recently in 2023’s “Adipurush” starring Prabhas.
“Ramayana Part 1” is expected to hit theaters during the 2026 Diwali season, with the second part scheduled for release on Diwali 2027.
