Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) As rockstar Yash celebrated his 40th birthday on Thursday, the creators of his anticipated film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups commemorated the milestone by unveiling a captivating sneak peek of his character, Raya, who is raw, bold, and unapologetically intense.
The star shared a gripping video clip on Instagram and X, introducing his character. The scene unfolds in the eerie stillness of a cemetery, starting with a burial before transitioning to Yash's character in a car sharing an intimate moment with a woman. Despite a bomb placed behind them, they remain completely unfazed.
Suddenly, the tranquility is shattered by an explosion and gunfire, plunging the scene into chaos. Amidst the smoke and scattered bodies, Raya steps forward, armed with a Tommy gun and a smoking cigar.
Yash kept his caption minimal, stating: “RAYA Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in cinemas worldwide on 19-03-2026.”
The filmmakers have previously revealed the leading ladies, which include Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been filmed simultaneously in Kannada and English, with plans for dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and other languages.
The film reportedly narrates a gripping story of crime and deception set in the 1980s Goa, where a powerful drug cartel manipulates lives against the backdrop of the state’s picturesque beaches and vibrant culture.
The film boasts an impressive technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music by Ravi Basrur, editing by Ujwal Kulkarni, and production design by TP Abid.
Action sequences are designed on a grand scale, choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry (known for John Wick), along with National Award-winning action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
Produced by Venkat K. under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
