New Delhi, Oct 10 (NationPress) The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) is actively pursuing initiatives to improve the integration of insurance and to further research in the Ayush sector, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Ayush on Friday.
AIIA has been diligently fostering collaborations, encouraging policy innovations, and promoting holistic health and wellness by merging traditional medicine with contemporary research methodologies.
As part of this initiative, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, the Director of AIIA, convened a meeting with Prof. Bejon Kumar Misra, the Chairman of the Core Group of Experts for Insurance under the Ministry of Ayush.
“The main agenda of the meeting was to enhance insurance coverage and develop policy initiatives within the Ayush sector to ensure greater accessibility and the integration of traditional medicine into the broader healthcare system,” stated the Ministry.
Prajapati highlighted that the newly established Project Management Unit (PMU) aims to create a timely and transparent framework for stakeholders, thus facilitating the effective execution of insurance-related initiatives.
The PMU was inaugurated recently by the Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge), Prataprao Jadhav, specifically for handling Ayush insurance matters at AIIA.
Prajapati further assured that AIIA will serve a crucial role in providing public access to information and benefits related to Ayush insurance schemes.
In addition, Prof. Prajapati met with Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) in Faridabad, to discuss potential collaborative research efforts and academic exchanges aimed at strengthening evidence-based practices in Ayurveda.
“AIIA is dedicated to fostering impactful collaborations that connect traditional wisdom with modern scientific approaches. By strengthening research partnerships and policy frameworks such as insurance integration, we can significantly widen the reach and credibility of Ayush systems,” Prajapati stated.
Recently, the Ministry of Ayush celebrated the 10th National Ayurveda Day at AIIA in Goa.
The event, held on September 23, marked a significant achievement in the Ministry's ongoing efforts to advocate for Ayurveda as a holistic health and wellness system grounded in sustainability and natural living.
