New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) The Ministry of Ayush is preparing to host a two-day event centered around the theme “National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States” at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) next week, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
Scheduled for September 3-4, the summit will be presided over by Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.
The event is designed to create a space for comprehensive discussions on state-specific insights and feedback obtained from officials across states and Union Territories, including valuable grassroots-level contributions.
This participative strategy aims to bolster and strategically advance the National Ayush Mission (NAM), a flagship initiative that promotes holistic healthcare through the integration of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, and Homeopathy systems.
The forthcoming summit marks the concluding event in a series of six thematic summits highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 4th Chief Secretaries’ Conference in 2025.
These summits, organized throughout the year, gather officials from the Central Government along with all States and Union Territories for targeted discussions on pivotal themes, promoting engagement at all levels, even among junior officers, to enhance capacity building.
In alignment with this vision, NITI Aayog has pinpointed six thematic areas for the summits. The theme “National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States” has been identified as the sixth and final theme, with the Ministry of Ayush appointed as the lead ministry, in collaboration with the Health Ministry.
To ensure focused discussions, six thematic sub-groups have been established, each addressing key elements of the mission and consisting of 6-7 States/UTs.
The themes and respective State/UT groupings have been meticulously outlined, covering aspects ranging from financial management and organizational reform to quality assurance and IT-enabled services. Each sub-theme is managed by two Nodal States, ensuring targeted and effective discussions.
This Departmental Summit reiterates the Government of India’s commitment to elevating Ayush systems as a vital component of the nation’s healthcare framework, improving accessibility, quality, and efficiency. It emphasizes the significance of capacity building at the State and UT levels to unlock the complete potential of the National Ayush Mission.
