Kabul, Nov 26 (NationPress) Numerous Afghan citizens have vehemently denounced Pakistan's recent airstrikes in the provinces of Khost, Paktika, and Kunar, accusing Islamabad of persistently infringing upon Afghanistan's airspace and asserting that such aggressions should not go unchallenged, as reported by local media on Wednesday.
This condemnation follows the Afghan government's confirmation that Pakistani forces targeted a residential area in Khost on Tuesday night, resulting in the deaths of 10 civilians, while separate strikes in Kunar and Paktika left four others injured.
“We call upon the Islamic Emirate to take action in response to this assault and ensure that the cries of the injured children and women are acknowledged,” Afghan media outlet TOLO news quoted Abdul Wali Ahmadzai, a Kabul resident.
Other citizens have also implored international organizations, including the United Nations Security Council, to investigate the targeting of civilians, particularly women and children, in these airstrikes.
Faramarz, another Afghan citizen, stated, “We urge the United Nations to address Pakistan's unwarranted attacks.”
Numerous others have emphasized the necessity for a reciprocal response, asserting that the Afghan populace remains united in their position.
“As the citizens of Afghanistan, we support our government. The state must take necessary measures in response to Pakistan's actions,” expressed Homayoun Faiz, a resident of Heart city.
Earlier on Tuesday, Kabul strongly criticized the Pakistani airstrikes in Paktika, Khost, and Kunar, labeling them as infringements on the nation's sovereignty and violations of established international norms.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the interim Afghan government, communicated via social media that an appropriate response would be executed at the right moment.
“The recent airstrikes conducted by Pakistani forces in Afghanistan's Paktika, Khost, and Kunar provinces represent a direct attack on Afghanistan's sovereignty and a blatant disregard for internationally recognized norms and principles by the Pakistani authorities,” Mujahid posted on X.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns this violation and act of aggression, asserting that defending its airspace, territory, and citizens is its legitimate right. A necessary response will be taken at the appropriate time,” he added.
