Quetta, Nov 15 (NationPress) The Baloch National Movement (BNM) conducted memorial events across the globe and in various districts of Balochistan to observe Baloch Martyrs’ Day, where political figures and advocates for human rights discussed Pakistan’s occupation of the area and the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Baloch communities around the world commemorated November 13 as Baloch Martyrs’ Day, honoring those who sacrificed their lives in pursuit of national rights, dignity, and the freedom of Balochistan.
During a gathering in the Awaran district of Balochistan, BNM Chairman Naseem Baloch stated that the significance of Martyrs’ Day extends beyond mere remembrance; it is about reaffirming the commitment to carry on their legacy.
“The martyrs have honored their duty. Now, the remaining journey is upon the living. We are the ideological successors of these martyrs, and upon joining the party, we pledged to advance their mission. We must fortify our institutions and push the movement forward,” BNM reported Naseem Baloch as saying.
The ceremony featured speeches from BNM Secretary of Information and Culture Qazi Dad Muhammad Rehan, Central Committee member Chief Aslam Baloch, Zone President Ustad Mehran, Vice President Talar Naz, and Finance Secretary Meerak Baloch.
In the Netherlands, a seminar was organized by BNM, attended by representatives from both the Baloch National Movement and the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM).
Speakers emphasized that it is the moral and national obligation of Baloch youth to grasp the mission for which the martyrs laid down their lives — to advance it and promote their national identity at every level.
The BNM held its principal event marking Baloch Martyrs’ Day in Berlin, Germany, attended by political leaders and human rights advocates from various nations.
In his central address, Naseem Baloch, Chairman of BNM, stated, “Pakistan aims to silence the Baloch population through force, yet state oppression has only intensified their desire for freedom. He reminded that on 27 March 1948, the Pakistan army forcibly occupied Balochistan, and today, the region remains under a pervasive atmosphere of fear marked by military installations and surveillance. He noted that the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth and the discovery of disfigured corpses continue, yet the Baloch nation remains steadfast.”
