New Delhi, Nov 7 (NationPress) The strengthening of ties between Pakistan and China has drawn ire from groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Nationalist Army (BLA). Amidst this backdrop, Islamabad is preparing for increased turmoil due to its newfound alliance with the United States. The TTP has expressed its discontent, threatening to target Islamabad if the US begins investments in the country.

This warning follows a recent agreement between the two nations involving a mineral deal, intensifying tensions. The TTP has declared intentions to eliminate individuals in Islamabad associated with the US. They claim they can seize control of Punjab and will execute their plans if the US becomes involved.

The TTP has mobilized considerable resources towards Punjab, launching a significant recruitment campaign that has attracted numerous new members, primarily from the Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TeL). The earlier violent suppression of peaceful protests by the TeL has fueled public discontent, allowing the TTP to capitalize on this disaffection.

Indian intelligence officials are raising alarms about these developments, indicating that the TTP is becoming increasingly formidable, posing a significant threat to the Pakistan Army, which has endured substantial setbacks against this group.

The TTP has ominously warned of a surprise offensive in Islamabad, intended to send a stark warning that ties with the US could have dire consequences for Pakistan. Similar threats are anticipated from the BLA as US companies prepare to commence operations in Balochistan.

An Intelligence Bureau official has commented that the Pakistan Army is increasingly being cornered, as it faces challenges on multiple fronts, weakening its position. Pakistan may be overextending itself by trying to maintain relations with both China and the US, making promises it struggles to fulfill.

This situation is reminiscent of the challenges faced during the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), where groups like the BLA and TTP targeted the project, jeopardizing the safety of personnel involved.

When plans for CPEC 2 were discussed, China insisted on including Afghanistan in the endeavor, requiring Pakistan to secure funding for the project, a task made difficult by its current economic constraints.

While negotiations are ongoing, tensions with Afghanistan remain high, and any misstep could exacerbate the situation. Both countries exchanged accusations even before talks in Istanbul commenced. Pakistan must navigate complex diplomatic waters, ensuring the security of US interests in Balochistan, securing funds for CPEC 2, and maintaining a fragile peace with the Taliban, as China firmly demands Afghanistan’s inclusion in future projects.
