Tokyo, June 13 (NationPress) Japan has voiced its condemnation of Israel's military actions against Iran, calling on all involved parties to de-escalate tensions and exercise maximum restraint.
During a press briefing, Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi emphasized that maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East is of utmost importance to Japan.
"On June 13, Israel initiated an assault on Iran's nuclear installations. It is profoundly regrettable that military action has been taken amidst ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at peacefully resolving the Iranian nuclear situation, including dialogues between the United States and Iran. Japan categorically condemns this action, which exacerbates the situation. The Japanese government will continue to exert all necessary diplomatic efforts to safeguard Japanese nationals and prevent further escalation," stated Takeshi.
This statement followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement earlier that day regarding the commencement of 'Operation Rising Lion,' a targeted military initiative designed to counter the perceived nuclear threat from Iran.
Qatar also issued a strong condemnation of Israel's actions, urging the global community to take responsibility to stop the conflict.
"The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and deep denunciation of the Israeli strike on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Qatar views this attack as a blatant infringement on Iran's sovereignty and security, along with a clear violation of international law. The State of Qatar voices serious concern over this dangerous escalation, which is part of a persistent pattern of aggressive policies threatening regional peace and stability and obstructing de-escalation efforts," read a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The State of Qatar emphasizes the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and to act promptly to halt these Israeli violations. Qatar reaffirms its unwavering stance against all forms of violence and reiterates its appeal for restraint to prevent escalation that could broaden the conflict and undermine regional security and stability," the statement continued.
Singapore has also expressed significant concern regarding the rising tensions in the region, urging all involved to exercise restraint.
"Currently, there are no reports of Singaporeans injured in Israel or Iran. Given the volatile security circumstances, Singaporeans are advised to postpone all travel to these countries. Those already in Israel and Iran should remain indoors, proceed to safe shelters when alerted, stay updated with the news, and follow local government guidance. Vigilance is essential at all times," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
