New Delhi, June 6 (NationPress) A prominent Indian multi-party delegation, spearheaded by Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP), had a significant meeting with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Friday. This meeting followed a fruitful visit to Qatar, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Egypt, where they conveyed India's strong commitment against terrorism.
“It was a pleasure to meet the All Party Delegation led by Supriya Sule, which recently concluded its tour of Qatar, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Egypt,” EAM Jaishankar shared on X.
After the discussions, Sule informed the media that the delegation briefed the EAM on the diplomatic outreach regarding Operation Sindoor.
“EAM S Jaishankar was keen to understand our experiences and the insights we gathered from each nation. We delved into these topics comprehensively,” she remarked.
Responding to opposition critiques regarding the delegation's meetings exclusively with Members of Parliament (MPs), Sule clarified, “Every delegation engaged with various dignitaries, including Speakers and Vice Presidents. Moreover, MPs are integral to decision-making processes in any democracy.”
“A healthy democracy allows diverse voices to emerge, and various Congress leaders participated in different delegations, including mine, which comprised two Congress representatives,” she added in response to inquiries.
The delegation featured prominent BJP members such as Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, and V. Muraleedharan, alongside Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, Telugu Desam Party's Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Aam Aadmi Party leader Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney, and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin.
“We conveyed the essence of our discussions from our visits to four nations as part of Supriya Sule's delegation. Overall, the dialogue was highly productive and significant, where these countries unequivocally condemned terrorist activities in India. We also emphasized the necessity for a global coalition against terrorism and the successes we've achieved,” noted former Minister V. Muraleedharan during an interview with IANS.
Throughout their visits, the delegation interacted with governmental agencies, parliaments, media outlets, think tanks, and the Indian diaspora, underscoring the importance of Operation Sindoor and the ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
The EAM also convened with an all-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, which visited the UAE, Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone.
This delegation included MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, Manan Kumar Mishra, Sasmit Patra, E.T. Mohammed Basheer, S.S. Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
