The landslide struck a roadway in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County within the city of Pu'er following persistent rainfall, burying a vehicle containing the five victims, according to the Pu'er municipal government's information office.
Rescue teams managed to retrieve the five individuals from the debris around 1:40 p.m., but unfortunately, all were already deceased.
