Bishkek, Oct 15 (NationPress) National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval engaged with the Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan, Lt. General Baktybek Bekbolotov in Bishkek on Wednesday, where both nations reached an agreement to bolster their cooperation in combating terrorism, radicalisation, and drug trafficking.
During their dialogue, NSA Doval and Lt General Bekbolotov addressed regional security challenges and underscored the importance of aligning their positions on issues of mutual interest at both regional and multilateral platforms.
"NSA Ajit Doval convened with Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Lt. Gen. Baktybek Bekbolotov on 15 October 2025 in Bishkek. The discussions revolved around enhancing bilateral collaboration aimed at countering terrorism, radicalisation, extremism, and drug trafficking. They also reviewed the existing bilateral defence cooperation and addressed regional security matters. Both parties reiterated the necessity to synchronize their stances on shared concerns within regional and multilateral frameworks," the Indian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan shared on X.
Upon NSA Doval's arrival in Bishkek for the third India-Central Asia National Security Advisors/Secretaries of the Security Councils meeting, he was welcomed by the First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan.
The Indian Embassy mentioned in a post on X, "NSA Ajit Doval received a warm welcome from First Deputy Secretary Mr. Melis Satybaldiev upon his arrival on 15 October 2025. He is set to participate in the 3rd meeting of the India-Central Asia National Security Advisers / Secretaries of the Security Councils in Bishkek."
In 2023, NSA Doval led the Indian team at the Second India-Central Asia Meeting of National Security Advisors/Secretaries of the Security Council held in Astana, where numerous bilateral and multilateral topics were discussed.
The inaugural India-Central Asia Meeting of National Security Advisors/Secretaries of Security Councils took place in New Delhi in 2022. The event saw participation from the National Security Advisors/Secretaries of the National Security Councils of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with Turkmenistan represented by their Ambassador in New Delhi.
