Canberra, Oct 14 (NationPress) Strengthening the evolving defence alliance between India and Australia, the fourth iteration of the joint military exercise AUSTRAHIND commenced at Irwin Barracks in the Australian city of Perth.
The inaugural ceremony centered on boosting interoperability and operational readiness, equipping both armed forces to perform joint company-level operations in urban and semi-urban settings.
“The opening ceremony for the 4th edition of the Joint Bilateral Military Exercise AUSTRAHIND between the Indian Army and the Australian Army took place on 13 October 2025 at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia. The exercise is designed to enhance interoperability and operational readiness, enabling both armies to execute joint company-level operations in urban and semi-urban environments,” stated the Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) in a post on X.
