Stockholm, June 12 (NationPress) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Thursday that the proposed comprehensive and significant India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) highlights the collective determination to build stronger economic connections and foster a future of inclusive growth.

Speaking at the India-Sweden High-Level Trade and Investment Policy Forum, attended by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises and prominent Swedish and Indian businesses, the minister explored the vast potential for collaboration between the two parties.

“The joint paper on the proposed India-EU FTA, unveiled at the event, emphasizes our united commitment to developing robust economic ties and ensuring inclusive growth for all. The India-Sweden partnership exemplifies how two diverse economies can derive mutual benefits through a shared vision and collaboration. I am eager to convert these discussions into tangible opportunities,” the minister expressed during the forum.

Goyal also met with Marie Sandin, Managing Director of Tetra Pak Sweden, to discuss enhancing collaboration on sustainable packaging solutions.

“We also explored pathways for expanding R&D initiatives in India and strengthening capabilities in advanced equipment manufacturing,” he shared on X.

Additionally, Goyal interacted with Swedish business leaders at a dinner reception organized by the Sweden-India Business Council and the Indian Embassy, where he underscored the substantial investment opportunities in India, particularly in light of the nation's remarkable sustainable growth trajectory and ambitious goal of Zero Defect, Zero Effect.

“I highlighted the impressive advancements India has made in technology, innovation, and R&D, supported by our skilled and talented workforce.
