New Delhi, Nov 8 (NationPress) The Ministry of Electronics and IT has unveiled plans for implementing AI-driven eKYC and global credential verification within the DigiLocker platform. This platform has transitioned from a mere secure document storage solution to a vital trust layer linking citizens with various ministries and departments, as per an official announcement.
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), part of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, hosted the National Conference on DigiLocker to explore and present its evolution into a fundamental pillar of trust, convenience, and efficiency across government, education, and industry.
The conference emphasized DigiLocker's crucial role in promoting paperless governance, inclusive educational opportunities, and secure digital services.
“DigiLocker acts as the trust layer connecting citizens, ministries, and departments—facilitating secure, interoperable, and accountable digital governance. Presentations showcased the integration of DigiLocker with Pension and Treasury systems in Maharashtra, as well as with over 500 services through the Sewa Setu Portal in Assam, according to the announcement.
Seven states, including Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Mizoram, have been acknowledged as “DigiLocker Accelerators” for their exceptional contributions.
