They reiterated AI’s increasing importance in facilitating data-driven policymaking, enhancing service delivery systems, and improving administrative efficiency, as stated by the IT Ministry on Saturday.

In a joint effort to promote the incorporation of AI in public administration, the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) in Tripura, in partnership with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the IT Ministry, held a workshop focused on “AI for Good Governance: Driving Transparency, Efficiency & Impact” at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala.

This workshop was an essential part of NeGD’s Capacity Building initiative, aimed at improving the understanding and implementation of AI in governance for senior officials in the state.

Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary of the state, showcased the state’s significant digital governance projects, including eOffice, eCabinet, and the Beneficiary Management System.

He articulated the necessity of integrating advanced technologies like AI into governance structures to promote transparency, accountability, and improved service quality.

Sinha also emphasized the necessity of establishing capacity building and promoting the ethical, inclusive, and responsible use of AI throughout public sector systems.

The workshop included four impactful technical sessions led by experts from NeGD and IndiaAI, according to a statement from MeitY.

In line with this national vision, the initiative is set to stimulate the formation of a robust, inclusive, and ethically viable AI ecosystem tailored to Tripura’s governance goals.
