Jaipur, Oct 24 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assessed the security landscape and the operational readiness of the Indian Army during the Army Commanders’ Conference held in Jaisalmer, followed by visits to the frontline zones of Tanot and Laungewala in Rajasthan on Friday.

At the conference, extensive discussions were conducted with the senior hierarchy of the Indian Army regarding crucial topics such as Grey Zone Warfare and strategies for Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, and Innovation.

In attendance were Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, and all Army Commanders.

During his address, the Defence Minister characterized Operation Sindoor as a representation of India’s military capabilities and national integrity, asserting that the forces’ strength is derived not just from weaponry but also from their ethical discipline and strategic insight.

“Operation Sindoor will be remembered not only as a military endeavor but also as a testament to our nation’s valor and restraint. The actions executed by our troops against terrorists were aligned with both policy precision and human dignity. The operation is ongoing. Our quest for peace will persist as long as even a single terrorist mindset exists,” he articulated.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that Operation Sindoor has fostered a new strategic mindset wherein India addresses any terrorist threats on its own terms.

“This is the Defence Doctrine of New India, reflecting both determination and bravery,” he stated.

While expressing appreciation for the soldiers safeguarding the nation around the clock, he urged them to never underestimate opponents and to stay vigilant and prepared at all times.

The Defence Minister called on commanders to continue concentrating on defence diplomacy, Aatmanirbharta, Information Warfare, Defence Infrastructure, and Force Modernisation to ensure a Future-Ready Army.

He commended the professionalism, bravery, and resilience of the Indian Armed Forces while reaffirming the government's steadfast commitment to providing advanced technology, infrastructure, and support to maintain peak operational readiness.

He acknowledged the significant role of the Indian Army in fostering peace and development in Jammu & Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370.

“The abrogation of Article 370 was a landmark event. Currently, the streets are filled with optimism, not turmoil. The public is confident about their future, with local governance restored. The Indian Army has been pivotal in making this possible,” he remarked.

Regarding the Northern border situation, the Defence Minister noted that ongoing dialogues and de-escalation measures demonstrate India's balanced and firm foreign policy.

“Our stance is clear: we are open to discussions, and our readiness at the border remains firm,” he stated.

Commending the soldiers’ tenacity and discipline, Rajnath Singh affirmed that the Indian military is recognized as one of the most adaptable forces globally.

“Be it the frigid terrains of Siachen, the blazing heat of the Rajasthan desert, or counter-insurgency operations in dense forests, our soldiers have consistently shown their capability and dedication. In the face of challenging conditions and diverse obstacles, they adapt and reinforce national security,” he noted.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that even in the tech-driven warfare of today, soldiers remain the nation’s greatest asset. He remarked that while machines enhance strength, it is the human spirit that ultimately drives results.

He asserted that contemporary warfare is conducted in invisible arenas such as cyberspace, information, electronic disruption, and space control, emphasizing that adaptability to new technologies, swift decision-making, and soldiers' resolve are paramount.

As part of the conference, Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated Technology Enablers, including the Edge Data Centres of Konark and Fire & Fury Corps of the Indian Army.

By next year, all Corps will have Edge Data Centres throughout the nation. He also introduced the Equipment Helpline for the Indian Army, the Sainik Yatri Mitra App, and released the 'Defence Millet Dishes Compendium', compiled by the Army Service Corps Centre & College in Bengaluru.

He inaugurated Naman Centres to assist veterans and Next-of-Kin. At Laungewala, the Defence Minister laid a wreath at the iconic Laungewala Yudh Sthal to honor the courageous soldiers of the Indian Army.

Rajnath Singh also launched 'Chandpuri Hall', an Audio-Visual Room dedicated to Major (later Brigadier) Kuldip Singh Chandpuri, who valiantly defended during the Battle of Laungewala in 1971.

He further honored the veterans involved in that battle.

He reviewed numerous infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the historical site into a symbol of national pride, celebrating the valor and resilience of the Indian Army.

Rajnath Singh also observed a dynamic 'Capability Demonstration Exercise', showcasing the integrated use of new organizations like the Bhairav Battalion and Ashni Platoon, along with the latest technological assets introduced to the Indian Army for operational execution.

The display represented a seamless fusion of legacy and innovation, underscoring the Indian Army’s commitment to Capability Development and Force Modernisation.
