Washington, Oct 29 (NationPress) The Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, engaged in discussions with US Senator Jacky Rosen, commending her unwavering commitment to strengthening India-US counter-terrorism collaboration and tackling challenges to regional stability, particularly cross-border terrorism.

During the meeting, he provided insights into the current India-US trade dialogue and the expanding partnership in hydrocarbons.

Kwatra expressed, “I had a productive conversation with Senator Jacky Rosen, who is the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Near East, Central, South Asia and Counter-terrorism Sub-committee. I updated her on our ongoing trade discussions and the growing bilateral trade in hydrocarbons. We also shared thoughts on the societal implications of advancements in Artificial Intelligence and potential cooperation opportunities between India and the US in this field,” he shared on X.

He further remarked, “I value her consistent support for reinforcing counter-terrorism efforts between our nations in addressing issues related to regional peace and security, particularly cross-border terrorism.”

Additionally, Kwatra interacted with Ambassador Stuart E. Jones, the President of the Middle East Institute, where they exchanged views on recent geopolitical shifts in the West Asia region.

On Sunday, the Indian Ambassador had a fruitful meeting with US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The two sides discussed strategies for achieving a mutually beneficial trade agreement, India’s energy security, and the escalation of oil and gas trade with the US, along with shared geopolitical challenges.

Kwatra also reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine through constructive dialogue and diplomacy.

Last week, the Indian Ambassador met with US Senator Bill Hagerty, where they discussed various aspects of their bilateral partnership, including ongoing negotiations for mutually beneficial trade deals, expanding hydrocarbons trade, and collaborating on shared challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

“It was a privilege to host Senator Hagerty and his wife at our residence. I sincerely appreciate the Senator’s robust support for India-U.S. relations. We discussed various dimensions of our bilateral partnership, including ongoing negotiations for a mutually beneficial trade deal, enhancing hydrocarbons trade, and working together to address shared concerns in the Indo-Pacific region,” Kwatra posted on X.
