Port Louis, Oct 14 (NationPress) Reinforcing India's dedication to the developmental needs of Mauritius, High Commissioner Anurag Srivastava and Minister Patrick Gervais Assirvaden inspected the site for the proposed 17.5 MW floating solar project at Tamarind Falls in this East African nation on Tuesday.
This initiative stems from Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam's recent trip to India, demonstrating New Delhi's focus on Mauritius's priorities and the mutual goal of sustainable development.
During their site visit, they were joined by officials from the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities, alongside representatives from the Central Electricity Board of Mauritius.
The Indian High Commissioner underscored that the energy partnership is a vital component of the strengthened strategic alliance between India and Mauritius, as reported by the Indian High Commission in Port Louis.
Furthermore, Srivastava and Assirvaden toured the 8 MW Solar Power Plant at Henrietta, established in 2023 with Indian support, which is currently contributing green energy to the Mauritian grid.
