EAM Jaishankar and Russian Deputy FM Rudenko Strengthen Bilateral Relations Amid Global Developments

New Delhi, March 30 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Andrey Rudenko, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, on Monday to deliberate on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and global developments.
In a post on X, EAM Jaishankar stated, "It was a pleasure to meet Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko of Russia. We discussed the further advancement of our extensive cooperation, along with pertinent regional and global developments."
Earlier that day, India and Russia conducted Foreign Office Consultations to evaluate their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership and to address bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern.
These consultations were co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Rudenko.
According to a post from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, "Today, in New Delhi, the India-Russia Foreign Office Consultations, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, took place."
He added, "Both parties reviewed the complete scope of our Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on bilateral, regional, and global issues of shared interest."
On March 17, India and Russia engaged in the 7th UN Consultations in New Delhi, focusing on matters related to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) agenda, specifically concerning counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, UNSC reforms, and more.
Jaiswal noted on X, "Both sides shared their priorities within the United Nations, with discussions centering on UNSC agenda items such as counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, and reforms among others."
Earlier on March 11, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, discussing the West Asia conflict and strategies for expanding bilateral ties.
In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India for two days, where he engaged in formal discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reviewing the status of the India-Russia partnership as it marked 25 years since its establishment as a Strategic Partnership.
This meeting was succeeded by the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, during which both parties issued a Joint Statement defining priorities for the upcoming years. Additionally, President Droupadi Murmu hosted a banquet in honor of President Putin at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
