US-Israel Strikes Confirm Death of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Tehran, March 1 (NationPress) Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, has been confirmed dead following airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel, according to reports from Iranian state media.
In addition to Khamenei, the strikes claimed the lives of four of his family members, including his daughter, grandchild, and son-in-law, as stated by Iran's Fars News Agency on Sunday, citing anonymous sources.
Former President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that these joint strikes resulted in the death of the Iranian leader, describing it as the “single greatest chance” for the people of Iran to regain governance over their nation.
Trump declared, “Khamenei, one of the most malevolent figures in history, is deceased,” calling it “Justice for the Iranian populace” as well as for “all great Americans and those from various countries who have suffered at the hands of Khamenei and his ruthless thugs.”
He noted that Khamenei could not escape the reach of U.S. intelligence and advanced tracking systems, stating that in collaboration with Israel, there was nothing Khamenei or the other leaders who perished alongside him could do to evade their fate.
“Reports indicate that many members of their IRGC, military, and security forces are no longer inclined to fight and are seeking immunity from us,” Trump added. He reiterated a warning, stating: “They can have immunity now; later, they face death!”
Trump also asserted that “not only has Khamenei died, but the nation has suffered extensive damage and devastation in just one day.”
Before Trump's announcement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had publicly suggested that there were “many indications that Khamenei is no longer alive,” although he refrained from giving a definitive confirmation. “Khamenei’s compound has been obliterated,” Netanyahu remarked.
