Prayagraj, Jan 28 (NationPress) The Maha Kumbh, one of the most revered festivals in Hinduism, is currently taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, attracting over 15 crore pilgrims who are participating in a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers converge.

The festival, marked by deep devotion and enthusiasm, commenced on January 13 with the 'Pavitra Snan' and is set to conclude on February 26, coinciding with Maha Shivratri.

Upcoming significant dates for holy dips include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Magh Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivratri). As Mauni Amavasya draws near, the excitement continues to attract countless devotees, undeterred by the frigid weather.

Pilgrims from all over the nation have shared their spiritual joy and gratitude for the arrangements made by the local authorities.

Pooja Chauhan, a devotee from Jalandhar, expressed her sentiments to IANS, saying, 'We are enchanted by our visit here. Everyone is immersed in spirituality. Despite the throngs, our 'snan' was seamless. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance; everyone should experience this.'

'It is the age of Satyug, and thus everyone is gravitating towards spirituality,' she further added.

A devotee from Mumbai praised the arrangements, noting, 'The police have made significant provisions at the railway station and ghats to ensure smooth operations. Food stalls are established at numerous sites. Even with large crowds, we managed our darshan in just two hours.'

A pilgrim from Ahmedabad compared this year's organization to previous years, stating, 'I visited during Mulayam Singh Yadav's leadership, where caste-centric politics hampered the organization. This time, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the arrangements are outstanding.'
