Sydney, Nov 18 (NationPress) In a tragic event in the Australian state of Queensland, a man was shot dead by police following a violent altercation where he stabbed another individual and threatened a woman early Tuesday morning.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) reported that they received alerts regarding a stabbing incident occurring at approximately 3:42 a.m. in Caboolture, located about 40 kilometers north of Brisbane. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had been stabbed in the neck.

According to police, the armed suspect fled on foot but was shortly apprehended while threatening a female passerby.

In response to the threat, an officer discharged their weapon, resulting in the suspect's death at the scene.

The stabbing victim was swiftly transported to a hospital where he remains in serious condition, while the threatened woman reported no physical injuries.

The QPS has initiated an investigation into the incident.

Earlier in November, a separate stabbing event left a teenage boy hospitalized in critical condition after an incident on November 6 in Molendinar, a suburb located 65 kilometers southeast of Brisbane. Emergency services reported that a 17-year-old boy was found with severe injuries and rushed to the hospital. Two attackers had fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.

The QPS established a crime scene as they continue to search for the two assailants.
