Quetta, Oct 11 (NationPress) Numerous Baloch civilians have been forcibly abducted by Pakistani forces as the cycle of persecution continues amidst a rise in enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and torture across the province, according to prominent human rights organizations.

Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, voiced serious concern over the abduction of Khudadad Baloch, a minor student from the Mand area in Kech district. Khudad was taken by Pakistani forces from Zarrenbog village in Kech along with three other individuals on October 8.

Condemning the incident, another human rights group, Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ), stated, “This case highlights a persistent and disturbing trend in Balochistan, where civilians, including students, are subject to enforced disappearances, unlawful detentions, and intimidation by state authorities.” The rights group emphasized that such actions instill fear and suppress dissent, thereby undermining fundamental human rights protections.

The human rights organizations called on the Government of Pakistan to promptly reveal the whereabouts of Khudadad Baloch, ensure his safe return, and cease the practice of enforced disappearances. They also urged authorities to carry out an unbiased and transparent investigation and hold accountable those responsible for these actions.

In another troubling incident, Paank reported that on the night of October 10, Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Hasil, both residents of Srinkan in Turbat city, were forcibly taken from the Raees Goth area in Karachi by the Pakistan Army. Both men had recently returned from overseas employment in the United Arab Emirates.

Expressing concern, BVJ noted, “Their abduction illustrates the escalating trend of enforced disappearances where Baloch civilians, including returnees from abroad, are targeted without any legal justification.”

The BVJ held Pakistani authorities entirely accountable for their safety and demanded their immediate release, labeling the ongoing impunity for such acts as a serious violation of international human rights law.

Moreover, Paank reported that on September 30, another Baloch civilian, Noor Jaan, a laborer from Parwar in Awaran district, was forcibly taken by Pakistani security forces without any legal warrant or explanation.

Earlier this week, Shalee Baloch, the Central Organizer of the Baloch Women Forum (BWF), revealed that a protest rally was held in Awaran city of Balochistan, where attendees raised vibrant slogans against the enforced disappearances of Baloch youths, Sagheer Baloch and Iqrar Jangiyan, who were abducted on June 11 by Pakistani forces from Ormara in Gwadar district.

“Enforced disappearances have not only caused trauma to the Baloch national present but are significantly affecting the secure and promising future of society where both young and experienced individuals suffer unjust torture in the state's illegal prisons,” Shalee stated in a post on X.
