Ottawa, June 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Croatia on Wednesday after concluding his significant visit to Canada, where he participated in the 51st Group of Seven (G7) Summit held in Kananaskis. This marks the inaugural visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, a crucial milestone in enhancing bilateral relations.

“I conclude a fruitful visit to Canada, expressing gratitude to the Canadian people and government for hosting a successful G7 Summit. It facilitated valuable discussions on various global challenges. We continue our commitment to fostering global peace, prosperity, and sustainability,” PM Modi shared on X prior to his departure for Croatia.

PM Modi's upcoming visit aims to strengthen political and economic ties with the European nation, presenting a vital opportunity to expand bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors such as trade, innovation, defense, ports, shipping, science and technology, cultural exchanges, and workforce mobility.

“This journey to Croatia will also highlight India's dedication to reinforcing its connections with partners within the European Union,” stated government officials.

During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to meet with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and President Zoran Milanovic. The Indian Prime Minister previously had brief interactions with PM Plenković during COP-26 in 2021 and at the virtual India-European Union Leaders Meeting the same year.
