New Delhi, June 18 (NationPress) Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Randeep Singh Surjewala, strongly criticized the Haryana government, labeling it as a “protector of criminals” and accusing it of neglecting law and order within the state.
Referencing a recent media investigation concerning the alleged criminal-administration connection in Haryana, Surjewala stated that the BJP-led government has transformed the state into a nexus of organized crime, mafia activities, and rampant lawlessness under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's leadership.
On the social media platform X, Surjewala expressed, “Under BJP’s rule, criminals roam free while the public lives in fear. Haryana’s image has deteriorated to that of a gangster state, where mafias, thugs, and criminals dictate terms while police and administration look the other way.”
He indicated that incidents of extortion, murders in broad daylight, and threats have now become commonplace, with police efficiency significantly diminishing.
“The law and order situation in Haryana has entirely disintegrated. Gangsters are operating even from within jails, which are now akin to their personal offices,” he remarked.
“Criminals based overseas are now orchestrating crimes in Haryana through their accomplices. Social media is being exploited to instill fear, and extortion has become a lucrative business under the Saini administration,” Surjewala added.
He accused the BJP government of providing tacit support to criminals, enabling a parallel regime of mafia control.
“Haryana is no longer a safe haven. The average citizen lives under a cloud of fear. Crime has evolved into a more sophisticated, organized, and emboldened enterprise due to political backing,” he emphasized.
Pointing to a media report, he claimed it reveals the alleged connection between criminals and the ruling party.
While the Haryana government has yet to respond to Surjewala’s allegations, it is anticipated that the Opposition will bring this issue to light in the near future.
It is noteworthy that Haryana's CM Nayab Singh Saini chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to assess the law and order situation and the ongoing excise auctions in the state.
